While trying to sync an assignment from canvas to Powerschool, the assignment name will sync correctly, but when I go into grade sync, and then warnings and errors, it shows that none of the students in the course have an SIS id and it will not sync grades. Can I fix this error?
Hi Melissa, if you have rights to view students' Account Details pages, you can verify whether they have SIS ids or not. If not, whoever your Canvas admin is can answer that for you. Those SIS ids are how Canvas and PowerSchool match user accounts between the two systems, so if the students in your course really don't have SIS ids (perhaps it's a self-enroll course?) then that info would need to be populated before you can sync anything.
I hope that helps somewhat!
Usually, this means that your students in the course have been created manually and were not sync'd with your SIS. Did you manually create their student accounts? If so, they will need to have their SIS ID, that matches their PowerSchool ID that is being used to sync data. But this is normally something that is handled with your Canvas Admin. Have you checked with them? Good luck!
