how can I fix a spelling error in a student's name (in "people")

I added a student with a letter missing from his name (typo). Can I fix? Or do I have to delete and then re-add the student to the course?

Hi Tenney,

There are a couple of ways you can do this. If your school allows a student can actually go in and update their name themselves (How do I edit my profile in my user account as a student?).

If you have admin capabilities you would go to your root account and then go into People. Once there find the student and then click on the on the pencil on the right hand side of the screen. .

looks like student can edit his own profile.

In free version I am using, looks like I can't edit it for him.

(my university uses D2L, so I'm going rogue by using Canvas--way better platform!)
