In January, I shared that we are implementing the New Quizzes API in REST and we have a dedicated team already working on the first iteration (Quiz Building). I’m excited to share the news on the progress we made so far.
In order to enable you to start working on your integration as soon as possible, we further sliced the Quiz Building iteration into two pieces: Quiz CRUD operations and Quiz Item related endpoints. We are releasing the Quiz CRUD operations related endpoints to beta ahead of time, on March 20th, Monday. Quiz Item related endpoints will come later.
Quiz CRUD endpoints includes:
- Get a New Quiz
- List New Quizzes in a course
- Create a New Quiz
- Update a New Quiz
- Delete a New Quiz
Known Issues
At the time of this announcement there is a known issue when creating a course and trying to create a New Quiz with the API without launching any New Quizzes on the UI, users will receive an error. The workaround is to create and build one New Quiz in the course. This should be resolved before the production release.
Next steps
We continue to work on the Quiz Building iteration so we can enable integration works which require quiz item endpoints too.
