We’re excited to introduce Surveys as a new quiz type for New Quizzes, designed to help educators more easily gather feedback, gauge understanding, or foster open reflection from their students.
Surveys can be configured to collect anonymous or non-anonymous feedback, and graded or ungraded, offering flexibility to meet different instructional goals. Educators will also have access to new Survey data within the ‘Reports’ tab, providing more detailed insights into survey results, allowing for deeper analysis of responses across question types.

Here’s what you can expect from Surveys when it releases to production environments on December 13, 2025.
Classic Quizzes surveys can be migrated into New Quizzes with ease.
Individual results are available from the Moderate page, with expanded result views coming soon. Survey results by question will be available in the Reports area.

Surveys becoming available directly within New Quizzes makes it easier than ever to gather student feedback without leaving your course. Educators can choose between anonymous or identifiable responses, depending on the goal of the survey. Further, it eases the migration burden for instructors migrating their courses from using Classic to New Quizzes.
Surveys are built for lower-stakes participation, giving students a chance to reflect and share their perspectives freely. This empowers instructors to foster open dialogue and continuous improvement in their teaching and course design.

Surveys will be available starting December 13, 2025, as part of the final Canvas Release of the year. Keep an eye on Canvas Release Notes in early 2026 for added survey capabilities.
