It looks like you have a case that has been escalated to the Level 2 support.
Without being able to take a look at the specific example, It does sound a bit like it might be related to the whitlising or possibly a restricted administrative setting on the Chromebooks or the chrome Browser itself. Does it do this while in an incognito browser window also?
If you wouldn't mind letting us know what they are able to find out on this, I would love to know.
