Managing User Accounts for Non-Credit Courses
We are working on policies to help manage user accounts for our non-credit courses. The licensing model for our non-credit courses is based on the number of users (not FTE). Thus, we are trying to figure out efficient ways to ensure the users we have in Canvas are actively taking courses and how to handle users that are no longer actively taking courses.
Are any other institutions that offer non-credit courses/programs and/or are using a user-based licensing model, willing to share how you manage user accounts in Canvas?
- How long do you allow users access to their courses after the course ends?
- Do you delete and/or suspend users? If so,
- When do you delete and/or suspend users?
- How do you handle if a student returns in the future?
