When I'm pulling questions from an item bank for a quiz, I'd like to be able to click on the item bank name and open that item bank. As it is, clicking on the item bank name in the quiz build only allows me to adjust how many questions I use and how many points the questions are worth. If I need to open the item bank, I would need to click on the "Item Banks" button or the "Manage Item Banks" in the three dots, find it in the list or type it. This adds some time to getting into the item bank. The bigger problem is with item bank names that are long, hard to remember, or similar to other names. Either the button or the three dots way of getting to the list will cover your view of the build so you can't just see the name and type it. You won't even have the question on the screen if it's later in the quiz because you have to scroll away from it for the button.

I want this. Currently, you can put a stimulus in an item bank, but I have no idea why. All it does is pull up the title, instructions, and body. The questions are not associated. I would use stimulus much more often if I could randomly pull a stimulus and its associated questions.

Another thought: What if we randomly select the answer and put it through a series of steps to create the problem the student is presented with? In the "Question" we enter `a`. In the value range, we enter x= Min 1 Max 10 f= Min 1 Max 10 g= Min 1 Max 10 h=x*f+g a= " `f`x + `g`=`h` " If the formula picks x=3, f=2, and g=1, the student gets 2x+1=7. The answer of 3 is guaranteed to come out as intended because the formula started with the answer to create the problem.

Or, at the very least be able to exclude values from the range. When a problem involves division of positive and negative values, I have to do 4 versions of the problem for +/+, +/-, -/=, and -/-. Otherwise I run the risk of dividing by 0. (I know I could allow for 0 in the numerator, but where's the challenge in 0/x?). Related issues: Showing addition and subtraction based on the sign of the random value: In the formula x + `b`, it would look fine as long as b is positive. However, if b were -3, it would show up as x + -3. Is there a way for the formula to recognize that b is negative and either change the + to -, x - 3, or put b in parentheses, x + (-3)? Coefficients of 1 and -1: When using variable values as coefficients, could the formula recognize coefficients of 1 or -1 and not show them? We don't generally write the 1's. A formula for generating the problem values shown in the "Question" would be valuable. Even something like having students divide and end up with integer answers can't be done as a formula question. If I could enter the problem in the "Question" as `a*b`/`b` and then set the value ranges for a and b, it would work. Sometimes I just want odd or even numbers in the problem. I can't do that currently. I would love to enter formulas like `2n` or `2n+1`. Instead of a formula in the "Question", we could define variables in the value ranges area. Instead of only doing a range from low to high, we could choose between range, list, or formula. For formula, we could have a variable defined by the other variables. So, in the "Question", we would have `n`/`b`. in the value ranges area, we would have n=(formula) a*b a=(range) Min 1 Max 10 b=(list) 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 Combined with the following suggestions and "Formula Question" would be a quiz option of superhero levels of power. Fractions and radicals. In the area were we identify the decimal places and allowances for the answers, there can be a format option for decimal, fraction, or radical. Algebraic answers would be nice, too. Dividing polynomials could end up with answers like 3x+1. The answer line already allows for non-number characters to be entered (Which is annoying when a student is told their percent problem is wrong when they enter the correct answer of 16% instead of just 16.), we just need the computer to recognize those non-number characters when appropriate based on the format selected.

I expected this to automatically weight the assignments in the gradebook. If I had 2 quizzes, one with 13 questions and the other 22, but I wanted them to both be worth 40 points in the gradebook, I could put 40 when I create and the gradebook would figure that 10 out of 13 on the quiz was 30.8 out of 40 in the gradebook, while 19 out of 22 would be 34.5. It's not doing that. 10 out of 13 goes in as 10 and calculates as 25% (10/40). The point total in the build is apparently irrelevant. It would be nice to be able to choose which way to use this (automatically match build total or weight grades).

I was making a formula question in New Quizzes and the answers weren't coming out right. I troubleshooted the different parts of my formula. I found that the rad_to_deg and deg_to_rad functions were working backwards (see image). I went to Classic quizzes and it worked properly (see image). From New Quizzes. 120 radians is almost 20 times around a circle and should be around 7,000 degrees. 120 degrees is one third of the way around the circle and is about 2 radians. The formula is doing degrees to radians, not radians to degrees. From Classic Quizzes. This is the correct result.

If I click "move/copy question to another bank", the dialog box has a check box so I can "Keep a copy in this question bank as well". If I click "Move Multiple Questions", there is no copy option available. The dialog box is entitled "Move/Copy Questions", but all you can do is move questions. I make duplicate questions that I make small changes to so I can have similar questions without having to completely remake them. (e.g. I turn a true statement into a false statement to have 2 True/False questions to choose from.) I can do this by making the question in a bank. Then, in the quiz, I repeatedly click "Find Questions" and select the original question as many times as I want similar questions. This is tedious. I can do it within the question banks by moving the question to another bank while keeping a copy. Then I go to the other bank and move the question back. This is a little better. For a single question, either of these is acceptable. For multiple questions, however, all that clicking and loading can add up. I can duplicate several problems at once by sharing a quiz to commons and importing it back, which puts the questions in a new bank. This feels like using an elephant gun on a rabbit, though. It would be nice to be able to have a copy option in the move multiple questions action. It would be even better to have a "Copy this Question" button right next to the "Edit this Question" button.
