As the title states currently there is no overview page for instructors when using New Quizzes. When an instructor selects a new quiz from modules, assignments, or quizzes it immediately brings them into the edit page. This is problematic for a few reasons.
1. Instructors anticipate an overview page. This is consistent with how Canvas operates everywhere else. When an instructor selects a Discussion, Assignment, Page, Classic Quiz, or Syllabus the element brings them to an overview page. New Quizzes does not have a consistent design and opening to an edit page is unexpected.
2. Not having an overview page is going backward in terms of the student view tool. Instructors cannot access student view once they've navigated to a New Quiz. In the recent past Canvas implemented the student view button on more pages in Canvas. This function is removed with the addition of New Quizzes. Now instructors must become a student prior to accessing a New Quiz. This can be problematic in many instances specifically when the Quiz or Assignment tab is hidden in a course.
As I've stated above this change is inconsistent with other tools in Canvas and is unintuitive for instructors. While being a small change it unnecessarily hides information, complicates student view, and creates additional inconsistent experiences in Canvas.

When providing fill-in-the-blank answers currently we can only use close-match, exact match, or regex. Incorrect spaces between words or characters cannot easily be ignored. While providing close-match and regex are nice additions we really need an option to ignore spaces. Using regex to programmatically ignore spaces is extremely cumbersome and is not practical for quizzes with a large number of questions or inexperienced faculty. Close-match is an alternative, however, in many scenarios being even one or two characters off can dramatically affect the quality of the answer depending on the "wrong" characters.
Having the ability to strip an answer of spaces and evaluate it solely on the order of characters would be extremely beneficial. An example of this would be requiring students to cite a publication based on the provided information.
e.g -
Information about the publication:
Author: Harper Lee
Publication date: 1960
Book title: To kill a mockingbird
Publisher: Lippincott
Correct Answer:
Lee, H. (1960). To kill a mockingbird. Lippincott.
Incorrect Answer Examples Due To Space Limitations:
Lee, H. (1960). To kill a mockingbird. Lippincott.
Lee, H. (1960).To kill a mockingbird. Lippincott.
Lee, H. (1960). To kill a mockingbird. Lippincott.

Piggybacking off @mskoch I completely agree with this feedback. Our users are conditioned by modern web design that colors such as orange or red indicate they are about to do something wrong or irreversible. The warning message appearing before they have created or imported any content into a brand new course has resulted in increased stress on our Canvas helpdesk. Our instructors are confused why they are receiving a warning about overwriting content in a fresh course. I have never saved a document and have been warned that I might hypothetically overwrite a document with the same name that doesn't exist.
I would prefer if Canvas could just handle overwrites just like many other softwares do by appending a number onto things with the same name.

@kstepp1 Here is a link to the release notes in which they changed how the missing status works. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Releases/Canvas-Release-Notes-2022-01-15/ta-p/502450#:~:text=%C2%A0-,Gradebook,-Missing%20Status%20Removal
This change has also has had negative feedback from our stakeholders as well. When faculty enter a grade the missing status is removed. This can cause issues when students are disputing their grades at the end of the semester. This particularly complicates assignments in which in-person submissions are accepted.

Thank you for raising attention to this. My institution encourages faculty to upload their Syllabus as a PDF to the syllabus tool in Canvas. We encourage this as this way in the future semesters they can copy their previous course and only have to update the PDF in the Syllabus tool. This helps prevent multiple versions of the syllabus from existing in the course. However, the problem occurs when faculty are able to link to the syllabus in individual pages but not under a Module without creating a page. Trying to explain this limitation to them is often met with frustration and confusion. "Why can't I link to it in Modules? I thought Modules was supposed to organize ALL my content?".

I do not prefer this method of updating us on feature previews. I'd prefer if these updates could remain consistent with the format of other user group's release notes. That is if you are intending on providing a video update please provide and link to text-based updates as well. In addition, closed captioning was not uploaded at the time in which I viewed this video (9/3/21) which can be an issue of accessibility.
