I want to put buttons on the home page to the modules using images. I need help figuring out how to link to a location in modules from that button. I tried hyperlink but that doesn't work. Any help out there?
Hi Sheila Martin...
Using the hyperlink icon in the RCE won't work to create a link from your front page of the course to a specific Module. When you are editing your page, highlight the image you want to make as a link. Then, on the right side of your screen, you'll see an interface with "Links", "Files", and "Images" tabs (this is called the Content Selector). Click on the "Links" tab, and then click on the "Modules" button under it. Select the name of your module you want to link to, and then save your page. This should create a link directly to the module in your course. More information can be found on this Canvas Guide: How do I insert links to course content into the Rich Content Editor using the Content Selector?
I hope this helps, Sheila!
Perfect! Thank you so much!
My college is moving us from Moodle to Canvas this summer, and I currently use an image at the beginning of each weekly module to help students distinguish one week's topic from another visually. These images are visible all year on the listed modules and students may move back and forth between them as they wish.
Your response to Sheila makes me think there is some way I can embed those photos into Canvas modules as well. Am I correct?

Hello Marlene Bumgarner...
Unfortunately, you cannot put images on each module of your Module page in your Canvas course. The directions I was referring to in my above response were for editing content on a Page. You wouldn't find the Content Selector (which displays the "Links", "Files", and "Images" tabs I referenced) on the Modules page.
In searching the Community, I came across several previously submitted Feature Ideas, but this one is on Instructure's "Product Radar".
Add Images to Modules.
Instructure is already aware of the need. If you like, you can comment on this Feature Idea and even vote on it.
I hope this is helpful to you, Marlene!
