How do I ask a question in the Instructure Community?

Question forums are the most common place to ask questions related to Instructure products. Each Instructure product has its own question forum. You may also be able to post questions in other places, such as interest groups.

Community members can answer any questions in the question forums. If you have posted a new question thread, you can mark a reply as an accepted solution. Community moderators can also designate a reply as an accepted solution.

Ask a Question

To ask a question, click Ask the Community [1] in the global navigation bar [1]. The system immediately asks which product your question is about. Select a product from the list [2].

After you select a product, the New Question page opens.

Enter Question

In the Subject [1] field, enter a clear title for your question. Then click Check Title [2] to see if similar questions have already been asked.

If you find a related question, click the title to view it. If not, click Continue and Post to proceed [3].

Enter Question Details

In the Body field, enter the details of your question [1]. Use the toolbar to format your text or add links, images, and emojis [2].

To attach a file, drag and drop it or click Browse [3].

If labels are available for the forum, select one or more from the Choose a Label section [4].

(Optional) Upload a cover photo for your post [5].

By default, you receive email notifications when someone replies. To turn this off, deselect the Email me when someone replies checkbox [6].

When you are ready, click Post [7].

Alternate Path

You can also start from the Products menu in the global navigation [1]. Select the product you have a question about [2].

On the product page, click Ask a question in the Contribute section.

The process continues the same way: enter a subject, check for related questions, and then post your details.

Accept Solution

As the author of a question, you can accept an answer that has been offered by another user. To accept an answer, click the Accept as Solution button [1].

To reply to the user who answered the question, click the Reply button [2].

To like an answer, click the Like button [3].
