Future of Canvas and Flash Plugin

Adobe announced this week that they have a definite end-of-life for the Flash browser plugin with respect to new features past 2020.

I know that Canvas has relied on Flash for certain areas of the software stack, such as for web-cam recordings. My question is what serious discussions have Instructure engineers had regarding getting away from this dependence sooner than 2020? WebRTC has made some great strides in this specific area.

I can see a future where in addition to the webcam recording that instructors/graders can click a button in the comments area of SpeedGrader and give some visual feedback on a student's paper or other digital online submission.

If the community has some sort of resource on this that I haven't been able to find on my own, I would appreciate a link and participating in that discussion.
