When I add a video from my media gallery, it starts automatically. How do I turn this off?
First, I want to apologize for your question sitting in the community for so long without a response.
Second, it looks like you have stumped the Canvas Community. Were you able to find an answer to your question? I am going to go ahead and mark this question as answered because there hasn't been any more activity in a while so I assume that you have the information that you need. If you still have a question about this or if you have information that you would like to share with the community, by all means, please do come back and leave a comment.
This is still an issue. I have not found an answer yet.

Hello there, Gregory Pytlak...
I have been reviewing older questions here in the Canvas Community, and I stumbled upon your question. I'm sorry to read that you are still possibly having issues with this. As I was reviewing your question, I was curious about the terminology "My Media Gallery". This isn't something that I am familiar with inside of Canvas. Would it be possible for you to either describe this in more detail or maybe even share a screen shot or two of where you are seeing a "My Media Gallery" option inside of Canvas? Sometimes, if you have a third-party integration inside of your Canvas account (something that handles video...such as Vimeo or Kaltura), they may have something called "My Media Gallery", but I am not 100% sure since the vast majority of people here in the Community don't have access to your course or your school's Canvas environment. For the time being, I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered"...mainly because we've not had any new activity in this topic for a couple months. However, that won't prevent you or others from posting additional questions and/or comments below that are related to this topic. I hope this is alright with you, Gregory. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
