The green icons are boring, and not being able to color code things has been frustrating. Is there an easy way to change icons/colors without having to code it myself?
Karen, Canvas has quite a few different icons, some of which are green by default; others may be green because your school has applied a custom color scheme. Can you provide a screenshot of the specific green icons to which you're referring?
The Canvas Style Guide is a great option if you are willing to explore the use of html in the backend design of pages. It provides all of the code snippets needed to add styling (colors, icons, etc.). While you can't change the green color as it refers to published items or items in the modules, you can make a large number of edits in a page and add customizations.
If using html code seems too complicated, you might prefer taking a look at the The specified item was not found. provided. There are many interesting and fun options for your students, and you don't have to code your own styling. My favorite option is using the Design Tools Add-on. Better known as Kennethware.
Let me know if you have any questions
I'll take a look at that: the director at my district said since we're on a trial basis we may not have access to these features. I just wanted something easy - not that I mind messing and tinkering with code, but sometimes...*sigh*
Karen, since we haven't heard back from you, we're hopeful that Travis Thurston's suggestion above has helped you with icon colors. Accordingly, we're going to mark this question as "Assumed Answered." The discussion remains open for participation, so if you still need guidance, please provide information about the specific icons whose color you'd like to change along with some screenshots.
