[ARCHIVED] Adding Submission Options After The Fact

One of our developers created some assignments in a course and in the "Submission Type" area, only selected "Text Entry Box" as a submission option. The course has since started and some students have submitted their assignments but a few would like to upload files for their submissions.

When I try to edit the assignment, however, Canvas is not recognizing the changes. I am clicking "File Upload" in the "Submission Type" area but, when I click save, nothing has changed.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi @daj166,

If adding and saving the File Upload submission type is not working, there may be something in that developer's code that needs updating. I'd recommend reaching out to them to take a look. If things look fine on their end, I'd recommend reaching out to Canvas Support for further help.
