I want to insert an image and make clickable links on top of the pictures. For example: If I put in a picture of a bookcase and I want them to be able to click on the different book titles on the bookcase that will take them to separate pages.

What you are asking for is an image map on top of an image you place in your course. I searched the Community and found this blog post by @jnassif called Image Mapping for a Homepage (aka Image with Multi Links). Hopefully it will help to answer your question. Good luck! Stay safe, and be well.

These blog entries were written a few years back (prior to when the Canvas Community transitioned platforms in August 2020). So, that is why the link you referenced above in my initial reply wasn't working as intended...as it didn't re-direct to the new location here in the current Community platform.
