The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Hi everyone, I'm new to the group and I am looking to see how many of you are Tech Coaches, or Literacy Coaches or just plain ... Coaches.
Would love to start a conversation as I begin my new position in a new school district this year.
Looking forward to meeting you. ![]()

Hey Jeff!
Thanks for the shout out and welcome to the Community. We are glad to have you!
I will also mention that if you are an instructional technology coach who does not currently have access to Canvas, or you would like to join this community you can create a free user account over at Canvas Free for Teachers.
I'm a Tech Coordinator/coach at an elementary school.
Hi! At my school, my title is technically Art Teacher + Canvas Engagement Specialist, but I help and collaborate in so many capacities. I think I could "fit" in with the Tech Coach label. ![]()
Hi teachercast I am a director of elearning which is a very posh word for coach + canvas admin + tech advice (switch on/off) + technologist + digital learning advice + canvas fixer
Some amazing K12 people around - in additiona to @KristinL suggest also following @Bobby2 and @kmeeusen all of whom are my goto people and write some great posts.
How is everyone's school year going so far? What are some of your challenges as the kids and dust get settled?
Day one with students is in the books!
Last week was our Staff Orientation, and there was so much to do! I feel that it can be difficult to squeeze so much into a single week of orientation. ...and get ready for students! I think the challenge this year will be to stay connected with busy colleagues -- to help them sneak some tech-focused professional development in moments it makes sense to them.
It sounds like things are moving quite quickly these days! That's awesome.
Keeping with colleagues, both ones at your school, and TC's in other districts is one of the most important things that TC's can do to not only keep our sanity but to keep updated on best practices.
