I am unable to view the attendance or chat options in my canvas instance. As admin, how can i activate the attendance tool so the teachers can view the option.

In addition to the information you were provided earlier by @kmeeusen, I also found this Guide: What is the Roll Call Attendance Tool?. According to the "Note" at the bottom of the info in the blue box, "The Attendance tool must be enabled for your institution before it can be used in Canvas courses. If you are an admin, contact your Customer Success Manager for assistance." If you do not have the "Attendance" tool enabled yet, you'll need to reach out to your CSM to get it enabled.
