[ARCHIVED] Automatically Create Groups in Canvas Studio?

Groups in Canvas Studio were recently made available. I know it is possible to manually create groups, but is it possible to automate the creation of groups? E.g. I have 30 departments I want to create groups for can I do so through a script or other automated way?

This is not currently possible in Canvas and there is not an existing related Canvas Feature Ideas. You might consider creating a new request in Ideas. (How do I create a new idea conversation in the Instructure Community?)
