[ARCHIVED] Customize course home page

Right now my course home page is modules or my syllabus - but I've seen other universities with customized home pages (see attached picture.) Is there something in Commons to download or a feature to turn on? I would really like to be more engaged in my course home pages

I understand it is changing the home page to < Pages Front Page, but I have no idea what to do from there.
