[ARCHIVED] Download multiple gradebooks from multiple courses at once

If an instructor teaches multiple courses, can they download the full gradebooks from all those courses into one Excel Workbook or CSV file?  Perhaps with a different sheet/tab for each course in the workbook?

OR....is there a Report that an entire Institution can run that will export all the full gradebooks for all courses/instructors in the Institution?

 @nelenzmartin , greetings! I'm sorry that your question has sat here for so long without a response. There is no built-in way to do this on the front end of Canvas. Yet, for the second question - about downloading all grades - I'm sharing this with the Canvas Developers‌ to see if they can provide any guidance or recommendations.

Hi Nicole,

I am not aware of a way to download the gradebook exactly as it is within Canvas.  I can think of two options here that would get you the data that is in the gradebook but does require some programming.

1. You can use #canvas data‌.  
2. There are two reports that I use and find easier to use to compile the data like it is in the gradebook.
   1. #student submissions‌ report. This reports allows you to see each submitted assignment in one #csv‌ file. It includes the submission date, graded date, the score the student received as well as the points possible for that assignment.
   2. #grade export‌ report. This report shows the students current score in the course as well as the final score.

Using both of these reports allows me to easily produce reports that shows us how students are doing in particular courses as well allows us to filter by grade and assignments.

I have been scouring the internet and Canvas Community to see if anyone has found a way to make this happen yet: "is there a Report that an entire Institution can run that will export all the full gradebooks for all courses/instructors in the Institution?". 

As a fully virtual school for 12,500 students across grades K-12, a part of our "compliance" grade is determining how many assignments has the student been assigned in each of their courses and how many of those have been completed. In other words, has the student been compliant in completing assignments? Without the ability to pull this type of date from the district level, the burden falls on the teacher of the course to compile this grade. Of course, the district-level data would be super useful in many other areas, like our monthly board reports and reviewing our overall engagement as well.
