[ARCHIVED] How do I link to a specific module?

On one of the public courses that was shared the designer linked images on the home page to a specific module.  The link went to a certain spot on the module page, not the first page of the module.  The URL was different for each link, but I can't seem to determine where the URLs came from.  When I click on different modules within the module page the URL does not seem to change above.  Does anyone know how I can replicate this?

I've been analyzing all the content lessons and think the lesson you linked needs to be renamed to How do I link to other Canvas content in my course? You're right that we don't have a lesson that shows all content, and the pages one can be repurposed for that.

 @ksauber ​, I ran a quick simulation of this. I used the Insert Content into the Page editor, and expanded the Modules section. When I did so, I was able to choose from linking to the Modules list or linking to a specific module, and in each case the URL that Canvas inserted was different--and when I saved the page, the links directed exactly as one would hope.

Is this what you're describing? If so, you wouldn't be navigating to the modules themselves to harvest the URLs (as you've discovered, you won't find them there); rather, you will be able to insert links for specific modules by expanding the Modules section of the Insert Content editor on the page you're editing and selecting the appropriate module.

Here is the trick I use, and it really does not amount to any extra work.

I create an introduction page for each module; i.e. Module One Introduction and Learning Objectives, and link to it since that is where you want your folks to land anyways.

The I create a text, image, or button (whatever) on the Home page and select that item, then create a content link to that first page of the module.  This is one of the side advantages of echoing your module name in that page name - it makes it easier to find the first page of each module when you are scrolling through the Wiki Pages in the content area to create you link.

You can view page source and find your module's id. 

Here are the steps:

1. In your browser, view page source
2. In page source, search for your module by name.  Example: "Week 6"
3. Once module name is found, your module id will be two lines below.
4. Copy the partial link (shown in the red box below) and combine it with your website URL and that will be the link for your module.
5. DONE!

I tried from the "Course Links" and the Site for the page refuses to show "page source".  With the course links and choice from Modules, while looking in student view, the entire modules page is being shown opposed to specific modules. 

This is after doing the suggestions in this solved post.
