[ARCHIVED] Nesting Blackboard folders in modules

Canvas imported all of my Blackboard folders as modules. How do I nest folders within modules. It appears you can only reorder them.

 @thomas_mawhinne , greetings! I'll be honest that I'm not that familiar with Blackboard, but I am pretty familiar with Canvas! Canvas doesn't have folders for it's Modules (folders only exist in the Files area), so I'm not sure what you are doing when you reorder them. Do you mean you can only reorder the Modules? If so, then yes, you can reorder the Modules, but you can't nest folders or content in the Modules. There is a feature idea for something similar to this that is currently on Product Radar. Atomic Curriculum Tools adds to Canvas the ability to nest modules and to easily create visual navigation of the hierarchy. Underneath it is still modules, but this adds a visual navigation layer on top of it that might help you regain the functionality you had in Blackboard.

There is not a solution that I can find. Following the "Go to Solution" does not show me a solution. I can only find items from 2016 and 2018. Please link a better "solution" here if possible.

If you are wondering about nesting folders within the "Modules" screen of a Canvas course, this is not possible...as @kona mentioned in her posting from Augus 2018.  You can, however, indent items that are displayed on your "Modules" page...so that things look a little more organized within a module and so that things aren't all at the same "level".  Here is how you can do that as an instructor:

• How do I add course content as module items? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com) - See the "Indent Item" heading
• How do I move or reorder a module item? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com) - See the screenshot under the "Move Module Item" heading for where you can increase/decrease the indentation.
