The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but in the last week all quizzes given within the new quizzing system for all instructors in my department has populated "no reports yet" under the "Moderate">"Quiz and Item Analysis" section. Usually the item analysis is back within 24-36 hours. It has been 5 days for some of us and still no results. We heavily use this to determine which questions were most missed, what the students were answering and what alternate answers to give them credit for. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Hello @fdalal
Thank you for contacting the Canvas Community. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with generating reports and analytics. We understand this was posted a while ago and canvas every once in a while may experience one-off errors or disruptions like this. However, everything should be up and running. Should you still have an issue, please reach out to support directly.
Because of the complexity of the issue, and the concerns for privacy, it would be best if you contacted Canvas Support directly to pinpoint the source of the issue and provide a resolution:

Takes 24 hours to get a report for a quiz????????? That's ridiculous.
@rangerlindsay ...
I am not sure if you follow the Canvas Product Roadmap, and I'm not sure if this will completely address your concern about the 24-hour wait period to get reports, but I would like to point you to this place on the Community website:
Canvas Product Roadmap - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
If you click on the tab labeled "NEXT Q2 - Q3 2023", the currently listed 4th item under "CANVAS LMS" is:
"Instructors can now access Item Analysis within hours or less, with meaningful data to ensure quiz effectivness."
My guess is that this would be for New Quizzes...as Instructure is not doing any more significant work on the current Classic Quizzes quizzing system.
I hope this will be of some help and reassurance to you that something appears to be in the works.
We are also currently experiencing this. What is the answer?? Why is it saying this?
I only have this problem with New Quizzes. I love Classic Quizzes and have not updated to New Quizzes for this reason. Classic Quizzes give you immediate feedback and I love this because I use it all the time just like you. I can't believe that an update in Quizzes would not include immediate feedback. I hope they figure out how to fix this otherwise I am not looking forward to updating my Classic Quizzes to New Quizzes. What features does it have making it better?
Hi @KathySollenberg ...
If you go to this link:
New Quizzes Transition Toolkit - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
...you'll find a link that goes to the "Classic Quizzes/New Quizzes Comparison Document" (under the Additional Resources" heading). Here you'll find a document that gives a side-by-side comparison between Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes.
Hope this will help a bit.
I've got a classic quiz for which the last submission was on November 6. Today is Nov. 21 and the item analysis is still blank. I'm not sure why this issue is marked as "resolved" if people are still reporting issues. We can all individually contact Canvas Support, but this sounds like a persistent issue. When can we expect a resolution?
