Whenever I receive a message via my canvas inbox I receive an email notifying me of the message. I would like to respond to the message through my email, but, when trying to do so, I am told, "To reply to Canvas messages from this email, it must first be a confirmed communication channel in your Canvas profile. Please visit your profile and resend the confirmation email for this email address.". How do I resend the confirmation email?

I had the same issue, but Canvas won't let me re-add my existing email or delete it.

The solution offered here did not help me. There was no + sign in my profile. And my correct email was already there.

Within Canvas, you need to click on the "Account" icon in the far left-hand global navigation menu and then select "Settings" rather than "Profile". On the "Settings" screen, on the right-hand side of that page, you'll see an area for "Ways to Contact". This is where you can add additional e-mail addresses to your Canvas account. You should already have an e-mail listed there with a star next to it...which marks it as a "default" e-mail address for your Canvas account. If you see a "!" icon next to an e-mail address, that means there is an issue with that e-mail address that needs to be corrected. Once you add another e-mail address to your Canvas account, then that e-mail address will show up as an additional column on your "Account" >> "Notifications" screen so that you can configure how often you'd like to be notified about certain things in Canvas with that e-mail address.
