This seems more like a bug in the Canvas Teacher app than a device connection issue. It seems sometimes to get confused and to hang when switching students or loading a student's submission, but it doesn't happen all the time (only when you are in the biggest hurry, of course!) My MacBook and my iPad are on the same wireless network, but often I can load SpeedGrader pages fine on the MacBook while the iPad is giving me a Spinning Wheel of Death. (And the hanging problem is not limited to SpeedGrader - that's just when it seems to show up most often, possibly because that's what I tend to use the iPad for.) Closing the Teacher app and reopening it does not generally fix the problem.
