I am having trouble finding out how to remove a student from a chat room.  The student dropped the course but the chat room indicates that she is on chat?

Hi @KarenTaber 

Canvas Chat will drop that student when she/he is removed from that course's user list. Depending on the permissions set for teachers at your school, you might be able to do that yourself. See, How do I remove an enrollment from a course?

If you do not have that permission, then you will need to contact your school's Canvas Admin/Support department to take care of this for you.
