Giving automatic full points for certain assignments

Is there a way to automatically give full points to all students who submit an assignment?

You can set a default grade for an assignment in the Gradebook - in your example that would be the maximum score possible. learn how at https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12834-415255002

 @kmeeusen , I think this misses that waitingtofade only wanted students who submitted the assignment to get the full points. If you set default grade and don't override the existing grades, then you're giving full points to just those who did not submit the assignment. If you do override the existing grades, then it gives full points to everyone including those who did not submit the assignment.

Exactly -- the question is, how to set a default grade ONLY for this students who have submitted assignments.

When creating/editing an Assignment, find the "Display Grade as" field and select "Complete/Incomplete" and students will get full credit for submitting an assignment. I like to use this option with assignments from textbook publishers that are connected to Canvas - I don't care how many questions on the assignment students answer correctly; as long as they submit the assignment, they'll get full credit.

You can do this with a "graded survey", but it depends on whether your assignment is conducive to the limitations of that format.

So for instance, I've tried this in the past to require students to bring a reading question to class for attendance credit. Just create a graded survey, add a text entry question, and assign points. Once they type in a response and submit, it automatically marks it as full credit. Later, I just opened attendance and the gradebook in separate tabs and marked students who had full credit as attended. The idea didn't work that well, but the technical side for Canvas did.
