Has Support for Item Response Theory Been Implemented?

I want to create an adaptive placement test for my students. I would like to organize my questions by difficulty level, and then have questions get harder or easier based on whether a student answers correctly.

This post from 2016 states that this feature will likely be implemented, but I can't find any further information. Is there currently a way to accomplish this in Canvas?

The closest Canvas has to branching is called Mastery Paths. It can use a quiz to pick which path to follow, but it would require different assignments. It does not work within a single quiz.
