Student submitted an assessment twice

We also have a student who has submitted a first attempt assessment twice. Does anyone know how to remove the duplicate, and still have the assessment attempt recorded as attempt 1?

Hi @LeisaRobson 

There is no way to remove a submitted quiz or assignment in Canvas. If your goal is to have students submit additional attempts on some kind of schedule, is to set the quiz to only permit a single attempt, then manually grant any additional attempts. There are two ways you can do this: use Quiz Moderation to add an attempt for a single student at a time, or revise the quiz to permit more than one attempt for the entire class at a certain date. The guides below will help depending on the version of quizzes you are using.

Thanks Kelley, was definitely helpful in other areas, but I probably should've been clearer in my wording of my query!

The student has uploaded a first attempt twice, so my query is more aligned to asking if we can excuse one of the attempts so Canvas is only recording one attempt
