New course visible under under wrong account

Hello!

After last refresh of our Canvas Beta environment weird situation developed:

We have main account A and a child account B (actually grand child)

I am an admin for the child account.

If I create a new course under child account B I don't see it under B, but I can find it under parent account A.

However course sub account is set correctly to B.

In the production environment everything works as it did before: If I create new course under account B it shows up under that account.

What could be the reason for this behavior and how to fix it?

Apparently there was an issue with the system.

Beta had stalled on several jobs, At the end of the day everything started working, and a bunch of my "lost" courses appeared without any further actions from me.

Canvas beta is a working environment offered as a complimentary service by Instructure. The beta environment is for testing and QA review before code is released to the production environment; it is refreshed every week to display the same content in the production environment. New code can be introduced to the beta environment at any time.

I believe there's probably some code stuff happening, if you want a more stable environment to test in.. use the Test space since it is a mimic of the Production environment. I know I did some testing with moving subaccounts in Test and then went into Beta to try it there too because I was desperate to keep trying things. I'm waiting for Test to get reset this weekend.

Hi Alexei,

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. Instructure could be doing some on-going development that has caused some unexpected behavior in your Beta environment. Check out https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-15857-canvas-release-notes-2018-11-17 to see if there's anything pending that might mess with subaccounts, or it could be something else later on down the pike.
