Syncing attendance in Canvas with a SIS (e.g. PowerSchool)

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience with trying to send attendance data from Canvas (perhaps using the Roll Call tool or some other solution, e.g. using API calls to create a report of submissions) with a Student Information System? I am using PowerSchool, but really if anyone has had experience with custom apps or any other ways to address this with a different SIS, I would still love to hear about the experience. Teachers not being able to enter attendance in the LMS that is captured the same way grades are through grade passback has been a major pain point. Thank you!

Is there any update on this? Our high school will begin using Canvas in the Fall (2019) and I would love to keep our teachers from bouncing back and forth between using Canvas and our SIS (RenWeb).

No luck on my end! I've started a conversation for the custom development team but the feature sounds like a non-starter. My best recourse currently is to work out a custom report to show student participation on a daily basis and have the office staff enter that in PowerSchool's attendance view...not ideal.

I would love to see a way to synchronize Canvas attendance data with our SIS (Banner). It is kind of an essential feature, don't you think? Thank you all!
