I am retiring this month. I have both a school Canvas account and a "free" account. The free account does not have Commons. I want to save a couple of courses from the school account so that I can possibly draw upon them to teach again.
Is there a way to do this or am I out of luck?

Hi @TheresaPlatt,
You'll probably want to export the course to a file, which you would save on your computer and then could import into another Canvas instance in the future. There are always some caveats when going between instances (external tools may be different, storage limits may be different, etc), but in general it should work pretty well. Commons is another way to do this, but as you've discovered with your free account it's not going to be accessible in every Canvas instance.
Hope this helps!

Thank you Chris!
How do I import it into the free course? Is that possible?
edit: I figured it out. After I created a course, I imported the old course into it. Worked great! There were a few issues, but overall, it worked. I appreciate your help, Chris!
Great! Glad everything worked out well in general. Let us know if there's anything else we may be able to help with!
