I have an instructor at my school who believes in assigning negative scores to students, specifically in daily class participation grades. The total point value of the assignment is 40 points. If he feels the need to kick a student out of his classroom, then he assigns that student a -40 for that day's session (as opposed to a 0). Currently, there is no way in Canvas that I as a Canvas Admin, can block or prevent the instructor from assigning a negative score.
I would like for the Canvas engineers to develop a way at the account or admin level, to block or prevent an instructor from assigning a negative score to students. Scores should be from 0 and higher and not below 0. By doing this, instructors will not be able to enter a score which is below 0.
