[Announcements] Retaining Profile Image for recycled Announcements when copied
A lot of instructors like to recycle and reuse Announcements (including myself), but when announcements are imported through a "course copy" a dreaded "U" takes the place of the profile picture. This signifies to the end user that it was not posted by their instructor or a specific person, which is somewhat misleading. Currently, the only solution for this is to create a new announcement which can be quite cumbersome to have to do this at the start of every semester. While researching this issue, in the Canvas community, it is clear that this is an ongoing issue with announcements.
My proposed solution to this problem is to improve the Announcements feature so that it retains the profile picture of the original poster when a "course copy" takes place. This would improve the overall workflow for instructors when copying over their courses to a new shell each semester and improve visibility for other end-users in Canvas.
