For an assignment type if you select student annotation students can submit a version but they cannot edit that submission once they hit submit. We previously used Kami as a district and this is our first time using Canvas. Two examples of issues occurred a few times the first two weeks of school. The issue I have is that if lets say a student accidentally hits submit but they were not done when they would go to start a new submission it makes them start with a completely blank document/worksheet. Or lets say a student finishes early but then decides they want to add something else to their submission, they are unable.
Either allow students to unsubmit a student annotation document so they can then edit it, allowing them to adjust their previous work. Or allow them to resubmit a new submission but be able to pull up what they had already been working on (new submission w/ or w/o previous annotations), not start from a blank version of let's say a worksheet. Why - Students make mistakes or hit buttons accidentally all the time. They should not have to start completely over on the assignment. I understand as a teacher I can switch through multiple submissions, but trying to piece meal together an assignment to grade is not helpful to me at all especially if lets say a student submits more than two.
