[Catalog] Additional Variables for Custom emails
Currently in Canvas catalog, when customizing emails, we are limited to variables such as catalog, user, course name, and account. This limitation has required us to send out additional confirmation and reminder emails outside of the system to provide the learners with the specific details of the course they registered for, such as the date, location, and details included in the description. Allowing for additional variables, such as course description and section date would allow for greater detail to be shared with learners, and provide an extra layer of confirmation that they did register for the section they intended.
Create variables for course description and section date, since each course listing requires individual customization anyways, adding in variables to the emails will allow this listing-specific information to be better communicated to the learner, while cutting back on admin time sending emails outside of the catalog with the additional details.
