Catalog allows us to create only one listing per course. If we have multiple sections of a course with future dates, users can only select one enrollment date per listing. They may not be aware that we even have future enrollment dates for sale. Along the same lines, we cannot create a new listing in a sub catalog for the same course. Example, if we wanted to offer the same course at a different time or price in a sub catalog, we can't do it with just the one Catalog listing restriction. Our current workaround for this is to create multiple copies of classes in Canvas, which allows us to create multiple Listings in Catalog, which is a lot of extra work.
Allowing us to create multiple listings for one course would solve a few problems. We could create listings for the same course, different sections/dates/enrollments, different prices on different sub catalogs. This would allow us to have just one Canvas course with multiple sections/dates. And then list that course on Catalog and sub catalogs at different dates/sections and prices.
