Clone quiz settings to create new quizzes

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas

When making multiple quizzes, instructors often wish to use the same settings (e.g., time limit, whether correct answers are revealed, number of attempts).  It would be useful if there were a way to copy or clone an existing quiz, without copying over the questions themselves, into a new quiz to retain all of these various setting.  This could be done in an intuitive fashion by adding a new option to the pull-down menu for an existing quiz.  Currently this menu includes Edit and Delete, but could also include "Copy" or "Clone."

Thank you for your submission,  @mhartman . There seems to be a feature idea entitled: " modifiedtitle="true" title="Default settings for quizzes.  Would this be similar to the idea you're suggesting and/or address your concerns?

That would not be the same for me, I have some quizzes that have one setting, for example a IP filter to only do in the classroom, and others that have different but common settings. Cloning an existing quiz so it is not linked to the original would work if there were a simple way to clear the questions out all at once.

To expand on this, any item (not just quizzes) could be cloned to make a copy that is not linked with the original, and that would make it easy to copy any type of item and just modify the content of the item.

It looks like between  @biray recommended link (above) and   this idea is covered.  Biray's recommendation focuses on a default setting, while 'duplicate quizzes' focuses on cloning an existing quiz.

I am going to archive this idea as a duplicate.

This was an option in the now defunct WebCT. You could choose to copy the entire quiz or just the quiz settings. This would be awesome!
