This has been addressed before but seems to have been lost in the ether of various transitions from feature requests and ideas. currently when the term ends or courses are concluded students and faculty lose the ability to communicate in canvas. This negativity affects how students can bring concerns about grades and work done in the course. there are many times when the course closes that students want to communicate with their past instructor about a grade or last assignment or being able to get the course reopened/extended (which is a whole other idea) but they can't easily reach the instructor.
It would be nice to be able, as an admin to control how long after a term ends to give them the ability to communicate in canvas. My idea would be to add that date range as an option in the terms settings.
