Students using AI and other forms of academic dishonesty harm students who do not by posting content they did not create themselves. This content, which often vacuous and incorrect, represents a level of linguistic dexterity that is A. Dishonest, and B. Not appropriate to the grade level or material. This highlights a false disparity and makes other students feel as if they are doing worse, or somehow not engaging correctly in the assignments.
I want the ability to hide (make invisible to other students) posts from students who are suspected of academic dishonesty until I can meet with them one on one. I do not want other students to see or engage with the dishonest material they have shared as their own. A simple "Hide from other students" on the Discussion page and speedgrader would accomplish this.
