My school has been using Canvas for three years now. It was difficult to get teachers to use Canvas at first, but the Google Cloud assignment format and Speedgrader won most of our school over. I am devasted to hear that you are no longer supporting Google Cloud assignments. The Google LTI 1.3 option is MUCH less user friendly. It is clunky and takes about 10 clicks too many to create. Being able to use Speedgrader is an improvement to that assignment type, but it is still not better than the more streamlined Google Cloud option. I fear that many teachers in our school will stop using Canvas if they cannot use the Google Cloud Assignment option and are forced to use the Google LTI 1.3 option instead.
So, I have three questions:
- Why are you no longer supporting the Google Cloud Assignment type? It is by far the most popular assignment type in my school.
- Why is Google Cloud assignments still an option for me if it is no longer supported? (See screenshot below)
- What happens to the assignments I have created over the past three years using Google Cloud assignment type? Will I still be able to access those? If teachers lose access to all of the work they have done getting their courses set up in Canvas, there will be a revolt here.

Please keep supporting Google Cloud assignments. It is a cleaner, more user friendly option. Losing that will severely impact the teachers at my school. I am afraid many will stop using Canvas is they lose this option.
