Starting on April 9th Ohio Senate Bill 234 will become law and require us to post Suicide Prevention hotline information on all "electronic" dashboards, planners, student ids and other items that students use on a daily basis. That of course means Canvas would need a spot for this, but we've yet to find one because global announcements are easily dismissed and or can be pushed down by other announcements.
Pretty cut and dry solution here. We're required by law to have it so either allow a permanent block at the top of the dashboard page for text and images or allow us to make an announcement permanent without any trickery involved.
