[Gradebook] More Use of Colors for Assignment Statuses
Currently in the GRADEBOOK when the due date is passed for an assignment, a pink color is used for the indication thereof. However, the assignment may still be available for student submission. When the UNTIL date is still available and an electronic submission is made then all is well. If the UNTIL date is passed for an electronic submission the student is prohibited from making the submission - which is also fine. However, when the UNTIL date is passed for non-electronic submissions, there is no indication of this status in the gradebook.
Consider using a different color to indicate that an assignments due date is passed but still available for submission and still a different color to indicate when the assignment is no longer available for submission. (1) The color indication would still work whether or not the submissions are electronic. (2) The color will inform the instructor of the status of the assignment at a glance. (3) This could be extended to the individual student grade report when a past due assignment currently shows as MISSING. An additional status (LOCKED ?) could be used to show that not only has the due date been missed but the submission was not recorded because the UNTIL date was also not met.
