[Gradebook] assignment comment (flag) should automatically convert from missing to late (or none) once student submits missing assignment

Problem statement:

After an assignment due date/time occurs or as instructor selects "missing" flag (and student score goes to automatic zero with a "missing comment" for an assignment for a student who did not submit it). BUT it would be GREAT when a student does submit or the instructor gives the student a score other than the default missing or zero that the "missing" flag automatically changes to a "late" flag rather than staying as a "missing" flag even when the student now has a score on the assignment in the gradebook.

Proposed solution:

It is a royal pain to manually have to go through the steps to change a student's flagged score from "missing" to "late" when a student turns in a missing assignment and instructor manually enters a score. It SEEMS really ODD that the missing comment/flag doesn;t automatically change once a score/grade is changed from the missing zero to some other number.

Problem statement:

Have Canvas Developers make it so when a score is added manually to a previousely marked "missing" grade the "missing" flag goes away and is automatically replaced with a Late flag/comment or No comment at all.

Proposed solution:

Why - it is a painful and clunky process to manually deselect the "missing" flag for any student who then submits and I change their score from "missing" and default we have to use is a "0" for missing to a real number - lets say an "8". Example: when I mark a student "mi" for missing then the next day I they turn a paper ,or whatever, into me and then I give them a 8 (the missing comment/flag or whatever) remains there unless I manually click on the little arrow button to the right of the student's score and the student pop up window appears and then I manually switch the missing bullet to a late bullet with my mouse). It is just a lot of steps that should be able to automatically have the "missing" change to a "late" or just have the missing removed when I manually enter a score for a previously marked "missing" assignment for a student.

Problem statement:

When a teacher or TA enters a score in Grades (gradebook) for an assignment that was flagged "missing," we then have to click the dropdown menu to change the status to "none." Way too many clicks.

Proposed solution:

When a teacher or TA enters a score in Grades for an assignment that was flagged "missing," the status should automatically update to "none." (Maybe "late" could be an option upon pressing "enter.")
