Students can manually enter in "To-Do" items and assign them to a class, but these items don't show up in the "To-Do" list (and therefore don't push notifications). For example, there could be a reading for a class discussion that doesn't have a formal assignment, but is still important to note in advance. Currently, this sort of "To-Do" item can be added to the Calendar, but it won't show up in the "To-Do" feed or tab (on the mobile version).
If these manually entered "To-Do" items could show up in the "To-Do" section and be marked "Done" like assignments can (by swiping on them in the mobile version), this would incredibly useful. It would help frame small tasks that might not show up as an assignment in the same way assignments are; it would allow *all* "To-Do" tasks for a course that the student would like to have noted actually be something that can be interacted with as a "To-Do" and not just a static calendar item with no additional features.
