in a previous version of the Canvas Teacher app for iPads, my teachers had the ability to sort submissions by section in Speedgrader, thus making grading faster when different sections had different submission times. The most recent version of the app has eliminated that functionality. The dialog box for Submissions List Preferences which only has four options: All submissions, Needs Grading, Not Submitted, and Graded that pop up when attempting to filter. There is not option to select the section.
Please allow filtering by section, not just by submitted/graded status options. This filtering option has been a part of the app in the past and has been vital for maintaining teachers' efficiency because they have the choice to grade one section (class period) at a time. Not all sections have identical due dates on the same assignment and it helps teachers organize and schedule when they want to grade certain assignments. Imagine a teacher with multiple sections with the same due date on an assignment. A teacher may choose to have kids submit assignments but only grade after the chance to have a discussion. Then imagine that teacher has a fire drill occur during one section and would like to hold off grading that classes submissions. Now that teacher has to hunt and peck alphabetically and match the kids to a roster as they go. Now imagine it is early in the school year when a teacher is still not entirely familiar with which students are in which class. The efficiency that speed grader has provided in the past is now lost.
