Modules can be set to require that students move through the content sequentially. However, if the course designer forgets to hide the Pages link in the navigation, the View All Pages button displays at the top of a page in the Module. This allows students to bypass the sequential requirement by clicking on View All Pages and view any page. Students can also circumvent the requirement to view items sequentially if the Pages (or Quizzes or Assignments, etc.) links are available in the navigation for the course.
It would be helpful to display a little prompt when instructors use the “Must view in sequence” setting for a module, perhaps suggesting that they hide Pages, Assignments, Quizzes, etc. from the Nav bar to avoid direct access. This would provide a Just-In-Time alert to support the integrity of the pedagogy.
