Need Option: Reveal Grade to Individual Student

Problem statement:

My Canvas courses are asynchronous, self-paced, non-credit, and open for a full quarter. I continually have new students register, complete the coursework, and are awarded certificates throughout the quarter. Students work on items worth 1 or 2 points and submit them at their convenience. Currently, in the gradebook, when clicking to reveal grades, the entire roster of students can view their grades, not just the one person who submitted an assignment that I just graded. For example, John works through the course and has finished 5 assignments, earning 5 points, but Suzy has not even started working on the modules. When I click unhide/post grades, John and Suzy both see grades, when only John needs to.

Proposed solution:

1. I need the feature to click hide/post grade per assignment for each student, one at a time. Ideally, this would be a course setting, as it applies to every graded item. 2. Each student needs to have a blank or "-" until they submit the assignment, to indicate they have not submitted anything yet. I recently manually deleted zeros and entered a dash "-" so my students would not think they were graded zeros.

Status changed to: Will Not Consider

I am happy to share that prohibiting a zero for showing to students depends on the assignment due date and the missing assignment policy for the gradebook. There is a Canvas Guides document that explains how this works:

How do I apply a Missing Submission policy in the Gradebook?
