New Analytics is kindof dumb - I doubt anyone who actually teaches or moderates at university consulted for its development. In the UK, quite often, there are multiple "dropboxes" (Canvas Assignments) for a single assessment for the simple reason that there's one Canvas Assignment for regular deadline, another for late submissions with Extenuating Circumstances, Individual Learning Plans etc. Usually those multiple Canvas Assignments that are created for a single assessment component would be within one Canvas Assignment Group. Unfortunately, Canvas New Analytics does not offer any way to view the data for an Assignment Group. Further, for individual Canvas Assignments, Canvas generates histograms, bu these are practically useless as 1. They are shown in a sliding sidebar, instead of the main page, 2. There is no way to adjust the buckets, and 3. Canvas doesn't offer a way to download the histogram or its CSV (only, clicking on individual bars offers the ability to download data for that bar - this is ridiculous).
New Analytics histogram: Histograms are pointless with randomly picked buckets. A marker likes to see the distribution across grades. That's what the histogram should show 1. allow either the administrator to set the buckets at the institution level, or 2. allow the instructor to set it at his/her own account level, so that this doesn't need to be adjusted for every course, and/or 3. by default, use the different performance levels from the rubric to set the histogram buckets.
