Currently, there are many options to adjust notification settings for a teacher - whether for the whole account or individual courses. These include some about submission of assignments. However, there is no option to receive a notification is a student has not submitted their assignment, that is, the assignment is overdue.
An option should be provided to receive a notification if a student _does not_ submit their assignment by the due date. This will enable teachers to follow-up students that have not submitted their assignment. This option should be provided to enable a more complete view of the assignment situation to be sent to the teacher through notifications.
